I can’t remember reading a story where I disliked the H more. Alex was the biggest wuss I’ve ever read. He completely seduced Vicki, but then went on like things were totally normal between them, but I didn’t have a problem with that. It was after he found out she was pregnant, his behavior was cowardly and disgusting. He followed whatever his lawyers said, trying to pay her off to get an abortion. The way she was fired was awful, and he knew how badly she needed that job. So he didn’t care if she had a place to live or if she had food to eat. He got back with his gold digging wife on the advice of those same horrible lawyers, even though he hated her. Months later when they finally talk, he walks away telling her to “take care”. Finally, having some sort of conscience, he hires her back, giving her back pay, like that should make up for anything. She was worried for five months over what she was going to do. Nothing he could give her could make up for that. So then he builds a nursery, so she can bring the baby to work with her, all this without telling his wife, who wants nothing to do with kids, that it’s his, because, again, he’s a coward. Like making a nursery and buying clothes and diapers is supposed to make up for him being an ass. And he was still planning to stay with his wife, even though he wanted to be with Vicki. Honestly, this man had no backbone whatsoever. A little emotional support would have been nice. When she came back to work, he treated her just like normal, like a employee who he’s somewhat friendly with. It was like he tolerated her being there. He never even felt the baby kick. Then suddenly, boom, he wants to be a family, and then… the story’s over. That’s my second problem with this book. They were together briefly in the beginning and then sort of together in the last two pages. They spent the entire book apart. I don’t care if there’s a sequel. A reader deserves more than that. Very disappointed.

I enjoyed this story but it was fast paced and somethings left unanswered. There is no epilogue to really give closure to the story in order to make you want to continue. The story just ends, the characters deserve each other but I can not understand why. There is really no background information to go on, just instincts.
